18-year-old Brooklyn man charged in killing of Devon Scott Freeman

On February 27, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m. Anne Arundel County Police Department officers responded to 4001 Ritchie Highway and discovered the body of 19-year-old Devon Scott Freeman, of Brooklyn. Officers discovered apparent trauma to his body.

A Forensic Investigator from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) and Homicide Detectives responded. Mr. Freeman was transported to the OCME for an autopsy where the cause and manner of death were announced by police last week--gunshot wound(s) with the manner being homicide.

Homicide Unit detectives continued to investigate and asked anyone with information to contact them.

Wednesday, March 8, the police department announced in a press release that, through investigative means, homicide detectives identified 18-year-old Jaden Kemetrius Crowner

as the suspect in this case. Detectives applied for and received charges against Mr. Crowner for the homicide of Mr. Freeman.
