Annapolis firefighters rescued three children form burning building Thursday

On Thursday November 19, 2020 at approximately1:30 pm, the Annapolis Fire Department was dispatched to the unit block of Juliana Circle West for a reported structure fire with people still inside the burning building.

Upon arrival firefighters received confirmation from fire communications of three minors trapped inside.

They were met with heavy smoke conditions, and could hear screams coming from the structure.

The firefighters immediately began rescue and fire-suppression efforts. All 3 minors were safely rescued from the structure and transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

They included a 15-year-old boy and two five-year old boys.

At the time of the press release injuries are unknown.

It took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to make rescues and extinguish the fires.

Annapolis Fire Department received mutual aid assistance from Anne Arundel County and the Naval District Washington Fire Departments.

There were no reported injuries to fire personnel. The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Annapolis Fire Investigations Bureau.

The Annapolis Fire Department has responded to just over 2,500 emergency-related incidents this year so far, according to its own statistics.
