
Car jacking in Glen Burnie, shooting in Severn over weekend

Sunday, December 5, 2021, at approximately 12:05 a.m. Anne Arundel County Police officers responded to the area of Ritchie Highway and Shelley Road in Glen Burnie for a carjacking. The 36-year-old victim reported he picked up a male and female in Baltimore and gave them a ride.
When they reached Route 2 and Shelley Road in Glen Burnie, the male passenger became agitated and jabbed the knife into the victim's back while making demands. The victim got out of his vehicle, a white 2006 Toyota Avalon, which was then taken by the suspects.
The victim suffered from minor, non-life-threatening injuries. Through investigation, detectives were able to identify the passengers who were later arrested and charged accordingly.
Arrested were 31-year-old Janell Louise Bender of Edgewater and 40-year-old Luiz Alphonsa Perez of Glen Burnie, Maryland
Shooting
On Saturday, December 4, 2021, at approximately 7:35 p.m. Anne Arundel County police officers responded for a report of a shooting in the area of Stillmeadows Drive and Stewarton Court in Severn.
The 25-year-old adult male victim was walking down the street when an unknown occupant of a silver sedan fired several gunshots at him, striking the victim once in his lower body. Two parked vehicles, a silver Lexus GS550 and a gray Ram 1500 were struck by the rounds.
The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Western District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6155.
