MDOT SHA TO ASSIST WITH EXPECTED HEAVY TRAFFIC ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2021 MILITARY BOWL
Heavy Traffic is Expected in the Annapolis/Parole Region
Game's winning raffle ticket to be drawn in 4th quarter
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) announced today, Wednesday, December 22, that they will assist in managing expected heavy traffic in the Annapolis/Parole area of Anne Arundel County for the 13th annual Military Bowl, including the use of close circuit TV cameras.
Also of note, the Military Bowl Foundation is offering a 50/50 raffle for the game.
The winning raffle ticket buyer will win 50 percent of the purse when it is drawn in the fourth quarter of the game. The other 50 percent of the purse will go to Patriot Point, a retreat for recovering service members.
Anne Arundel county residents can purchase the raffle tickets online.
The college football game, between Boston College Eagles and East Carolina University Pirates, will be held at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium next Monday, December 27.
To help with traffic, MDOT SHA will deploy two highway patrol units in the Annapolis/Parole area for approximately three hours prior to the 2:30 p.m. kick-off until any delays clear. In addition to enhanced highway patrols, MDOT SHA will deploy three portable CCTV cameras to increase their situational awareness and monitor traffic volumes.
Motorists are strongly encouraged to plan for extra drive time in and around the Annapolis/Parole region on game day. To view real-time traffic conditions and access to live traffic cameras, log onto www.md511.org.
MDOT SHA advises drivers to stay alert, focus on driving and look for reduced speed limits, as well as other driving pattern changes. Motorists can dial #77 on their mobile device for roadside assistance.
