The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) will begin a project Sunday night, April 10, to resurface a section of MD 648 (Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard) in the Glen Burnie area of Anne Arundel County. The work will be performed overnight and is expected to be complete in early May.
Crews will work along MD 648 between Interstate-97 and MD 3 (Crain Highway) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday nights through Friday mornings. Traffic will be guided using a flagging operation as needed. Overnight on-street parking may be impacted. Once scheduled, crews will place signage to provide motorists advanced notice of the overnight work that will take place.
Crews may also resurface the MD 648 ramps at I-97. During this resurfacing, traffic will be guided through a detour. Contractor Allan Myers Construction will conduct the work.
Customers who have questions about this work and state-numbered routes in Anne Arundel County may contact the MDOT SHA District 5 at 410-841-1000 or toll-free at 1-800-331-5603.
MDOT SHA works hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones for our crews as well as our customers. Drivers need to stay alert, focus on driving, look for reduced speed limits and other driving pattern changes, and slow down in construction zones.
