Investigation into late night killing in Glen Burnie Thursday night continues

Twenty six year old Gene Fayga Martin of Glen Burnie was killed by gunfire Thursday, October 21 in the Beach Road/McGown Avenue area of Glenburnie. The Anne Arundel County Police Department is continuing to investigate the suspected homicide. The killing took place in what a spokesperson for the department described as a typical neighborhood. The department doesn't suspect gang involvement, and believe it was a targeted killing. "Homicide detectives are still out from last night," said the department's media relations director, Lieutenant Jacklyn Davis Friday evening. Upon arrival Thursday night, officers found Martin suffering from an apparent gunshot wound or wounds. Lifesaving efforts could not revive the man, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Anne Arundel County Police Homicide Unit is investigating. Evidence recovered from the scene indicated the crime was targeted towards the victim, and there is no known ongoing threat to the community.
