Police believe Tuesday's Glen Burnie shooting was a targeted incident
An Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesperson said today that a shooting which took place Tuesday night on Lamplighter Ridge was likely a targeted incident. Lieutenant Jacklyn Davis said detectives are pursuing "pretty solid" leads provided by the public. The shooting victim, whose name has not been released, is in the hospital in critical but stable condition, and is expected to survive, she said. Anne Arundel County police are waiting for his condition to improve to interview him. A recent Anne Arundel County Police Department press release reports that On September 21, 2021, at approximately 10:20 p.m., officers responded to the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway for a report of a shooting. They met with a 25-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. The victim told officers he was on Lamplighter Ridge when he was shot by a tall male wearing dark clothing. The victim was then driven to a Shell gas station where he called for assistance. Anyone with information can contact 410-222-6135. She did not pinpoint a reason for less crime, but commended local communities for being involved in the safety of their neighborhoods. "We're usually very lucky with our community members," she said. "They're usually very helpful. Our communities are hands-on. it makes our jobs easier."
